Darsha Amavasya, or Darsh Amavasi, is the no moon night in a traditional Hindu lunar calendar. Darsha Amavasya is present when the moon is completely absent. In other terms Amavasi tithi should be present after sunset and during moonrise to be counted as Darsha.
For example if June 17 is Amavasi and if the time is 4:00 PM on June 16 to 3:30 PM on June 17. Then Darsha Amavasya is on June 16 even though the actual Amavasi date is June 17.
Darsha Amavasya is chosen by some communities to perform Shradh.
Darsha means no moon night.
