भगवान विष्णु के अब तक नौ अवतार हो चुके हैं और दसवें अवतार की प्रतीक्षा चल रही है। पुराणों में भगवान के दसवें अवतार की जो तिथि बतायी गयी है उसके अनुसार भगवान सावन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की पंचमी तिथि को जन्म लेंगे।

यह पावन तिथि इस वर्ष 12 अगस्त है। श्रीमद्भागवत पुराण के बारहवें स्कंद में लिखा है कि भगवान का कल्कि अवतार कलियुग की समाप्ति और सतयुग के संधि काल में होगा। इनके जन्म स्थान के विषय में श्रीमद्भागवत, स्कंध पुराण और कल्कि पुराण में बताया गया है कि कल्कि भगवान उत्तर प्रदेश में गंगा और रामगंगा के बीच बसे मुरादाबाद के संभल ग्राम में जन्म लेंगे।

भगवान के दसवें अवतार से जुड़ी रोचक बातें

पुराणों के अनुसार इनके पिता का नाम विष्णुदत्त होगा। विष्णुदत्त भगवान विष्णु के परम भक्त होंगे। जबकि गुरू गोविंद सिंह जी ने दशम नामक ग्रंथ में लिखा है कि कल्कि भगवान का जन्म कश्मीर में बिशन दत्त नाम के व्यक्ति के घर होगा। बारह वर्ष की उम्र में कल्कि भगवान त्रिकोता नामक कन्या से विवाह करेंगे।

भगवान के जन्म के समय ग्रहों की स्थिति के विषय में दक्षिण भारतीय ज्योतिषियों की गणना कहती है कि भगवान उस समय जन्म लेंगे जब चन्द्रमा धनिष्ठा नक्षत्र और कुंभ राशि में होगा। सूर्य तुला राशि में स्वाति नक्षत्र में गोचर करेगा। गुरू स्वराशि धनु में और शनि अपनी उच्च राशि तुला में विराजमान होगा। वर्तमान में शनि अपनी उच्च राशि तुला में ही गोचर कर रहा है।

Significance Of Kalki Jayanti
1. The Srimad Bhagavatam mentions the tenth Vishnu Avatar Kalki, who is due to appear on earth at the end of the current Kali Yuga and the upcoming Satya Yuga.
2. It is also mentioned that he would be born in the village of Shambala, to a devout Brahmin named Vishnuyasha. This event will happen 427,000 years from now as the Kali Yuga nears to an end.
3. The scripture also states that Kalki would arrive on a majestic white horse named Devadatta, carrying a sword in his hand with which he would slay all the proud and treacherous kings on Earth.
4. Kalki would also represent the eight Supreme qualities of the Godhead and his main purpose would be the liberation of a faithless world. This is because the Kaliyuga is the Dark Age in which people ignore faith and religion and are driven by greed and materialistic ambitions.
5. After killing the corrupt kings, Kalki would induce devotion into the hearts of earth dwellers. Entire populations will start becoming religious again and the Satya Yuga or the age of truth and purity would begin again.
6. Thus Kalki, the 10th Avatar of Vishnu would restore Dharma or righteousness on Earth.
7. Kalki Jayanti 2015 is on 20th August which is the lunar day of Shravana Shukla Paksha Panchami.

Rituals Of Kalki Jayanti
1. Observing fast throughout the day.
2. Chanting Vishnu Sahasranama, Narayana Mantra and other mantras 108 times.
3. Pooja starts with the chanting of Beej mantra followed by offering a seat to the Lord (asana).
4. The Lord’s idol is then washed ceremoniously with water and panchamrit.
5. 108 recitation of Lord Vishnu’s name is observed with the offering of flowers, lamps and incense.
6. Worshiping the Lordis considered very auspicious; especially on the days of Poornima.
7. Donating food to Brahmins is also encouraged.
